Facts or fancy wording? Ingredients on food labels often do not directly correlate to the actual nutrients. This is because ingredients are listed in order of weight, so those with a higher water content will often be listed first...

Conventional, commercial diets include both dry kibble and canned wet food. There are a wide range of diets out there, and choosing one of them can be very difficult if you don't know what to look for beyond the colorful packaging.
Living in Germany
Travelling with dogs on public transport in Germany has a sort of interesting bureaucratic charm to it. In most European countries, there is a fairly simple system: dogs either travel for free or there is a dog ticket for every situation.
Getting a Pet
Depending on what you intend on doing with your new pal, you can either go the rescue or registered breeder route. Please do not support pet shops or commercial mills - the animals live in misery and you are not helping by giving them your money!
breeder
If you want a pet to possess certain characteristics or to compete in show or sport, your best bet is to find an ethical breeder. Once you've done your research and found a species (and breed) to match your lifestyle, it's time to start screening breeders.
Bureaucracy
Timing is of the essence when it comes to making preparations (vaccinations, rabies antibody tests, deworming, securing an appropriate transport carrier, booking a place for your pet on a flight etc.), so start research and planning at least six months ahead of time if coming from outside of the EU!
Bureaucracy
People often hesitate to report a dog attack, because they believe that the dog will be euthanized. This is, however, a myth: it is extremely unlikely, not to mention it takes several lengthy court cases and repeated attacks (including on humans) to get to that point.
